Debian GNU 2.2
Kernel 2.4.20 on an AMD Duron

Welcome to Eric the BBS. (yeah yeah, it's still called Eric :)
This is (probably) the last of a long line of BBSes I've run. (if you're
really curious about the history of this place, type history once logged in)
There's no doubt some features missing/bugs to be fixed, let me
know if there's something particulary annoying and I'll see if I can
fix it.

Greg

Does anybody remember the gaming BBS "Palace Bright"? Anybody know what
became of the Sysop? It was a really great game - sort of a precursor
to getting into MUDs for me. I remember it ran on an Apple II, then near
the end he ported it to DOS (I think) and was going to have multi-lines.

It would be cool to find some old capture files, or better yet someone
actually get a hold of the source code and binaries. I would love to see
how it looked from the Sysops end. Imagine putting it up on telnet to
too!

Oh yeah. I remember it got into a little bit of trouble from some Christian
group complaining that it was violent. And they didn't like the fact that
you could have sex between characters. (Even though, if I remember correctly
, it was hardly graphic. More like, "So and so have sex...")

Neat. I typed in "telnet:hobbs.gawd.mb.ca" and Hyperterminal started
up with the BBS sign-on. I didn't know Hyperterminal could telnet.
